WIP: Face "Drawn" in Inkscape

One of the biggest differences about moving and using a new computer/operating system is figuring out how I'm going to do graphic work. Freehand drawing, with a pen, on paper, isn't the most convenient option, right now, so I'm trying to adapt to "drawing" in Inkscape with the pen tool, which frankly, doesn't feel like drawing, at all.

I can't use Paint.NET on Linux Mint, either, so I'm mirroring manually in The GIMP.

This is definitely a work in progress, and really just an experiment, so I'm not sure how it'll end up. I much prefer the flow of actually drawing, but I like the dramatic jaggedness that comes from drawing without curves.

I've spent hours working on this, today. It was nice to spend hours drawing, though. Very therapeutic, when I can find the time and headspace. And those are things I haven't been able to find much of over the past several months.

Not looking forward to the hours I'll probably spend adding color and preparing it for print, however. Not a damned thing therapeutic about that.

Gearing Up for Halloween

Labor Day is over! No more appreciation for you, workers! But that means Halloween is quickly approaching! And, as it turns out, it looks like I'll get to keep this site at TypePad, at least for the foreseeable future. Put me, Halloween, and a TypePad Pro account together, and there's a good chance that the Doodles section of this blog will start filling up!

In the meantime, I'm setting up new photo albums to house old art, designs, pictures, and cartoons. The Product Catalog is up and running--if sparsely filled--and you can even find a couple of Halloween designs, there.

(Note: "filling up" depends upon the availability of stuff to draw with. No guarantee of "filling up" is expressly or intuitively implied. The author of this blog post will be responsible for no damages incurred by said section's failure to "fill up".)
