I knew someone (or lots of someones) would be making Zazzle products that said "Occupy (Some Place)", either because people wanted to create a way for the rest of us to support the protesters and share the message, or because someone saw a way to make a quick buck. It didn't take me long to find these designs from Demand Change. According to the product descriptions, all proceeds "will be donated to Occupy Wall Street and/or used for helping people travel to Liberty Plaza and stand up for the 99%". I'm assuming that 1. this is true, and 2. it only refers to the designer's proceeds, not Zazzle's.
I logged out of Zazzle before creating these links, so no, this isn't about referrals for me, either. There are more designs/products at the shop link, above.
Mostly stuff to go with my pumkin and gourd-themed cards and postcards from a day or two ago.
I was a lucky girl, today! Not only did Mrs. Former Teacher bring me some grub from her church's mobile food pantry event, she also brought some that she picked up, herself, along with a beautiful, white pumpkin and several cute, little gourds.
I've never had a white pumpkin, before, and I've never had ornamental gourds, either, so naturally, I took a bunch of pictures of them. (Thanks to Mrs. Former Teacher for suggesting the tree, and to my neighbors for letting me set up photographic shop in their yard!)
But I'm also left with a challenge to do something creative with my lovely winter squashes, and I haven't quite figured out what that creative something will be, just yet. You're welcome to leave suggestions. The odds of me using those suggestions without modification, though, are pretty slim, since that would sort of defeat the purpose of being challenged to get creative! ;)
I got this guitar when I was 15 years old. I had just started high school, and one of the courses I'd signed up for was Beginning Guitar. Of course, I had no guitar, so my neighbor, Tom, picked this one up for me at a flea market for $15.
It's covered in dust because I haven't played it in years. My playing slowed due to carpal tunnel syndrome, then pretty much died when I had to donate a string to a friend's guitar after I'd broken one of hers.
I'll probably never play it, again, other than to pluck a string now and then. But the guitar will always mean something to me because of how I came by it, and as a memory of Tom.
A crying crocodile couple, half-wrapped in mummy style, with Eye of Horus eyes, pharaoh beards, and water waves for bellies, hold onto a big red heart. Ideal for LGBTQI herpetologists, with an interest in mythology or anthropology, who want to commemorate their wedding by the Nile. Or something.
This design is customizable. So, if you happen to fall within the nearly-microscopic demographic that it might actually appeal to; that big, red heart in the middle is a good place to put names, dates, or really, whatever text you want to put there.
(And to the uninitiated: Yes, Zazzle will let you do that.)
I'm completely jealous of this shot. I can never get nice, clear shots of honeybees, possibly because everything with a stinger seems to enjoy taking a shot at me. You can click the image above to purchase the postage, or to get a bigger view of the product/photo.
And for my fellow Zazzlers: I found this via Be-Zazzled *SOLD*, a blog set up just for Zazzlers to post their recently sold items. It's easy to post to, using the "email" option under Zazzle's product linking tools. And, for me, at least, it's nice seeing a bit of what's actually moving at Zazzle.
For more information on posting to Be-Zazzled *SOLD*, see this thread at the Zazzle Basic Prosellers forum.
